Product Notes

Bodega Bouza's Pan de Azúcar Merlot is a spectacular wine that captures the essence of Uruguay's terroir. Grown in the picturesque region of Montevideo, this Merlot offers a unique and flavorful experience. The wine boasts a beautiful deep red color and rich aromas of ripe berries, plums, and a hint of spice. On the palate, you'll taste soft tannins and a smooth, velvety texture, with notes of black cherry, vanilla, and a touch of oak. This wine pairs perfectly with grilled meats, hearty stews, or savory cheeses. It's a true representation of the passion and dedication that Bodega Bouza puts into their winemaking. Enjoy a glass of Pan de Azúcar Merlot and savor the taste of Uruguay in every sip.

About the Winery

Bodega Bouza

Bodega Bouza is a boutique family-owned winery with 35 hectares of vineyards spread across four distinct sites. Best known for its outstanding Tannat — Uruguay’s flagship variety — the estate also cultivates Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Tempranillo, Riesling and Albariño, becoming the first producer in the country to plant Albariño commercially. Founded in 2000 by Juan and Elisa Bouza on the site of a restored 1940s winery, the estate has quickly established itself as one of Uruguay’s most highly regarded and critically acclaimed producers, particularly for its single-vineyard Tannat wines.
