Tasting Note

The nose shows mulberry, dark plums, blackberry and intense whiffs of liquorice and violets. The entry is savoury and earthy with the dark berry fruit of the nose following through with notes of black cardamom, sweet tobacco and cloves. The mid-palate is full-bodied, yet elegant and lithe, with grainy tannins providing good structure and integrated acidity creating exceptional balance. Flavours of cured meat, white pepper and black olives lend classic complexity. Hints of tar, aniseed and espresso linger on a fine, silky finish.

Product Notes

Boekenhoutskloof Syrah is a premium South African red wine with complex and intense flavors. The wine is made from Syrah grapes grown in the Franschhoek Valley of South Africa. The vines are carefully tended by experienced hands, using natural cultivation methods and traditional pruning techniques. The resulting wine is full-bodied, with rich and spicy aromas of blackberry, cherry, and cassis. It has a deep, dark color with a complex palate of dark fruits, vanilla, and smoky notes. The tannins are firm and well-structured, making it an excellent wine for aging. Overall, Boekenhoutskloof Syrah is a sophisticated and elegant wine that showcases the best of South African terroir and winemaking skills.
