Tasting Note

Deep and lively Ruby colour. The wine is full-bodied and has very appealing red fruit driven aromas. On the palate, fresh and youthful with raspberry and cherry flavours, combined with a long and intense finish.

Product Notes

Dow's Fine Ruby is a classic Port wine that boasts a rich and full-bodied flavor profile. This Port is made using a blend of the finest grapes that are carefully selected and then fermented in traditional granite lagares for maximum flavor intensity. The resulting wine is then aged for several years in oak barrels to give it a smooth and velvety texture. The Fine Ruby has a deep ruby color and an intense bouquet of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and blackberries. On the palate, it is silky and smooth, with flavors of dark fruit and a hint of cocoa. This is a delightful Port that pairs perfectly with cheese or chocolate desserts.

Building on the preceding Silva family and Dow family’s legacies, the current owners of Dow, the Symington family, bring with their ownership the experience of having worked in Dow’s vineyards at Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira and the Quinta dom Bomfin. The Symington family brings the legacy of creating intense and tannic concentrated wines with the DOW wines, which age elegantly and are scented with mint and violet aromas.
