Product Notes

F.X. Pichler Ried Klostersatz Riesling is a prestigious Austrian wine with a rich history dating back to the 1970s. This wine is produced by F.X. Pichler, one of the most renowned winemakers in the Wachau region. The Ried Klostersatz vineyard is situated on the steep slopes of the Danube River, where the Riesling grapes flourish in the mineral-rich soil. The resulting wine is a true expression of terroir, with a distinctive character that perfectly balances vibrant acidity with intense fruit flavors. It is a complex and elegant wine with notes of stone fruits, citrus, and a hint of minerality, making it a perfect choice for special occasions and refined palates.

About the Winery

F.X. Pichler

F.X. Pichler is one of Austria’s most celebrated wineries, located in the Wachau—a breathtaking stretch of the Danube Valley designated a UNESCO World Heritage site for its dramatic scenery. The Pichler family has cultivated vineyards in the region for five generations. Franz Xaver Pichler established the estate in 1971, and today his son, Lucas Pichler, continues the family’s winemaking legacy. What began as a modest three hectares under Lucas’s grandfather has grown to twenty hectares, and as of 2024 all single-vineyard sites are fully certified organic.
