Product Notes

Pio Cesare Barolo Ornato is an elegant and complex wine made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in Barolo, one of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions. This wine is characterized by its ruby red color, intense bouquet of ripe fruit, and spicy notes of cinnamon, licorice, and tobacco. It's full-bodied with a velvety texture and a long, persistent finish. The grapes are carefully selected, hand-picked and fermented for 20 days before undergoing malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels. It is then aged in these same barrels for 30 months before being bottled, giving the wine its unique character and depth. This wine is perfect for special occasions and pairs well with rich, hearty dishes.

About the Winery

Pio Cesare

The origin of Pio Cesare wines can be traced back to 1881. An affluent businessman, Pio Cesare, started this wine brand in 1881, as he wanted to produce limited quantity of wines for himself and his closed ones. He wanted to make the most of the fertile regions on the hills of Barolo and Barbaresco and create special wines from here. However, with every year, his passion for winemaking increased multifold.
