Tasting Note

The Reynella Basket Pressed Grenache explodes with intense aromas of ripe cherry, plum, and black olive, backed by warm pepper spices. The palate is rich and velvety, bursting with stewed berries and a splash of minty freshness. Crisp acidity and fine, grippy tannins balance the warming alcohol, driving into a remarkably long, oak-kissed finish.

Product Notes

Reynella Basket Pressed Grenache wine is a rich and full-bodied red wine with a deep ruby color and complex aroma of dark berries, spice, and earthy notes. The grapes for this wine are carefully hand-picked and gently basket pressed to extract the maximum flavor and concentration. Aged in French oak barrels, this Grenache displays a velvety smooth texture with flavors of ripe plums, black cherries, and a hint of smoke. The wine has a long, lingering finish with balanced acidity and subtle tannins. Perfect for pairing with grilled meats or hearty stews, this wine is a true expression of the McLaren Vale region's terroir and winemaking expertise.

About the Winery

Reynella

Founded in 1838 by pioneering settler John Reynell, Reynella is widely regarded as the birthplace of South Australia's commercial wine industry and one of the oldest wine brands in Australia. Established in what is now Old Reynella on the northern edge of the McLaren Vale region, the estate played a pivotal role in the development of Australian viticulture. Reynell was also where a young Thomas Hardy gained his first experience in winemaking before founding his own legendary company. Today, the Reynella brand is owned by Hardys, part of the global wine company Vinarchy (formerly Accolade Wines), which continues to honour the winery's remarkable heritage.
