Taste Profile
Tasting Note
Ruby red in colour, this wine opens with intense perfumes of plums and dark chocolate. On the palate, it has great concentration and intensity, especially on the mid-palate, with smoky, damson fruit and lovely balance between supple tannins and youthful acidity.
Product Notes
G.D. Vajra Barbera d'Alba Superiore is a classic Piedmontese red wine produced by G.D. Vajra winery located in Barolo. Made from 100% Barbera grapes, the wine undergoes a meticulous fermentation process with maceration on the skins for up to two weeks and aged in oak barrels for over a year. Its intense ruby color and fragrant aromas of cherries, blackberries, and spices lead to a palate with complex flavors of dark fruit, vanilla, and a hint of tobacco. The wine has a notable balance between its acidity, tannins, and fruitiness, making it an excellent companion for hearty meat dishes and aged cheeses.
