Tasting Note

The cool winter preceding the 2021 harvest resulted in a slow and gradual ripening period, which contributed to the texture and complexity of this wine. The nose is floral, with aromas of peach blossom, pear and hints of white pepper. On the palate there is vibrant acidity, and concentrated aromas of ripe nectarine and yellow grapefruit.

The Mullineux Signature Old Vines White Blend is a unique and complex wine that has been crafted with care and expertise to bring out the best of each varietal. It is a true expression of the terroir of the Swartland region of South Africa where the vineyards are located. This white blend is made predominantly with old vine Chenin Blanc grapes, which are blended with smaller amounts of various other white grape varieties to add layers of complexity and depth. The nose is intensely aromatic with floral and fruit notes, and the palate is full-bodied with a zesty acidity and a long finish. A truly exceptional wine that is perfect for pairing with rich, flavorful dishes or enjoyed on its own.

They put all their winemaking experience into the brand they created, Mullineux, in South Africa’s Swartland region. As soon as Chris and Andrea spotted the terroirs, climatic conditions and the soil qualities of this region, they knew that this was where they wanted to set up their label.
