Product Notes

Offley White Port is a delicious fortified wine that is made using predominantly white grape varieties, and aged in oak casks. This elegant and refreshing drink hails from the famous Douro Valley in Portugal, and is created using a blend of traditional Port wine-making techniques and modern innovation. The result is a light golden wine with delicate fruity aromas, which is full of character and flavour. Offley White Port is perfect as an aperitif, and also pairs well with a variety of desserts, cheese, and dried fruits. It is a popular choice for special occasions, but can also be enjoyed any time you want to indulge in a little luxury.

Tasting Notes

Offley Porto White has an attractive yellow-straw hue and an intense aroma dominated by floral, apricot and peach, marmalade and nutty notes. The ageing in oak wood has ennobled it, increasing its richness and complexity. In the mouth, the balance between acidity and sweetness stands out, culminating in a lingering and elegant finish.

About the Winery

Offley

Offley is one of the many brands owned by Sogrape, the No.1 wine company in Portugal. With over 1600 hectares of vineyards under its control, Sogrape is a family-owned winery established by the Guedes family. It was during 1942 that Fernando van Zeller Guedes, along with 15 friends, established a community known as “Sociedade Comercial dos Vinhos de Mesa de Portugal.” He started this to bring the winemakers of Portugal together and to improve the market of Portugal wines in the international arena. Today, this society is what we all know as the prestigious company, Sogrape.

Offley, one of the brands of Sogrape, is known for creating innovative, effervescent and versatile vines. This label was launched by the passionate winemaker and expert visionary, Joseph James Forrester. The wines created here are definitely a class apart, and they hit as you like a wave of fresh air, from the other usual Port wines that you might have been used to.

Wine lovers, who love to try different kinds of wines, and who can appreciate freedom and innovation in wines, will fall in love with Offley wines in an instant. Like all other brands of Sogrape, the fruits for Offley wines, too, are grown on the prestigious Douro appellation. Located towards the northeastern part of Portugal, the Douro vineyards are spread across 44000 hectares. You can find close to 11o grape varietals planted here, and these include international and indigenous varietals as well.

Some of the Offley wines that are extremely popular are:

  • Tawny Port – This wine is made from Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cao.
  • Ruby Port – This is made from Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz Ameralla and Tinta Cao.
  • White Port – This is made from the white varietals of Malvasia Fina, Codega de Larinho, Viosinho and Gouveio.
