Product Notes

Pierro Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot Reserve wine is a luxurious blend of two classic varietals, showcasing the best of Margaret River's renowned wine region in Western Australia. This elegant and complex red wine exudes aromas of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberries and plums, along with hints of spice and oak. On the palate, rich and velvety flavors of blackcurrant, cherry, and chocolate are balanced by fine tannins and a long, lingering finish. Perfect for special occasions and pairing with hearty dishes, this Reserve wine is a true expression of the winery's dedication to crafting exceptional, age-worthy wines that delight the senses.

About the Winery

Like many of Margaret River’s early winemaking pioneers, Pierro founder Michael Peterkin originally trained as a medical doctor before pursuing his true passion for wine. During the 1970s he completed the prestigious Oenology program at Roseworthy College and gained valuable experience at several leading Western Australian wineries, including Cullen, where he produced Australia’s first Semillon–Sauvignon Blanc blend. In 1980, Peterkin established Pierro and successfully balanced life as a country doctor with building one of Margaret River’s most respected boutique wineries, finally retiring from medicine in 2020 at the age of 72.
