Tasting Note

A compelling combination of citrus, struck flint and expertly integrated fine oak aromas invite the nose into this bottling, where wafts of sea salt, lemongrass and lemon preserves on toast arise. The palate is grippy in texture, combining white peach crème brûlée flavors, with smashed stone and bright lemon zest

Product Notes

Rhys Vineyards' Horseshoe Vineyard Chardonnay is a vibrant and complex wine that showcases the best of California's terroir. The vineyard is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where the cool ocean breezes and rocky soils create ideal conditions for Chardonnay. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, giving it a rich and creamy texture that is balanced by bright acidity. On the nose, aromas of lemon zest, white peach, and toasted hazelnut are followed by flavors of green apple, citrus, and vanilla on the palate. This is a sophisticated and elegant wine that is perfect for special occasions or a luxurious night in.

About the Winery

Rhys Vineyards

Founded in 2004, Rhys Vineyards was established by Kevin Harvey. Kevin was a passionate and ambitious wine collector famous in the wine region of Burgundy. Long before the winery’s launching, he made close associations and friendships with several well-renowned domains in the department of Cotes d’Or. It allowed him to access a few of his friends’ properties and study the soil chemistry, depth, structure, and overall terroir climate of those lands.
