Tasting Note

Our 2018 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir has deep aromas of plum, brown sugar and baked fruit. Warm and richly inviting, the tannins are present in the mid palate and melt on the finish. This vintage is uniquely earthy and complex with notes of tobacco, baked cherry pie and spice. Enjoy this Pinot Noir now with charcuterie, wild mushroom risotto or grilled pork tenderloin topped with a cherry compote or whole grain mustard sauce.

Product Notes

Rodney Strong Vineyards Russian River Pinot Noir is a rich and complex wine that offers luscious aromas of black cherry, raspberry and vanilla. With its bright acidity and delicate tannins, this pinot noir is fruit-driven with flavors of red and black berries, spice and a hint of floral notes. Its medium body and smooth texture lead to a long and elegant finish that leaves a lasting impression. The grapes were carefully selected from the cool climate of the Russian River Valley, resulting in a wine that is reflective of the terroir it was sourced from. Enjoy this pinot noir with grilled salmon, roasted duck or mushroom risotto.

About the Winery

Rodney Strong Vineyards

The story of Rodney Strong Vineyards began in 1959 when the winery’s founder Rodney S. Strong retired from his dancing career. He married Charlotte Ann Winson, his dance accompanist and partner, and started his life in the winemaking art and industry. His venture into the new field led him to Sonoma County. There he realised the value and potential of the land that could lead to unmatched diversity and world-class standards of the planted vines.
