Product Notes

Tommasi Rafaèl Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC is a bottle of red wine that is made using traditional Italian methods. It hails from the Valpolicella region in the Veneto area of northeastern Italy, where the winery has its roots dating back to 1902. The wine is a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, and Oseleta grapes, carefully picked when they are at their ripest. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 12 to 14 months, which brings out the fruity and spicy notes of the grapes. With its rich ruby color, medium body, and delicate tannins, Tommasi Rafaèl Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC is a perfect accompaniment to red meat dishes and aged cheese plates.

Tasting Notes

Bright ruby red, with fresh red cherry perfumes. Flavours of sweet cherry and chocolate with a smooth and supple drinkability, make this wine an easy drinking delight.

About the Winery

Tommasi

Tommasi was founded in 1902 and is located in Pedemonte, in the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classico region. From grandfather Giacomo’s small vineyard holding, the Tommasi estate has developed over the years becoming one of the most recognised producers of Valpolicella and Lugana. The family owns vineyards in some of the prime hillside sites in the region and it is now managed by the 4th generation of the Tommasi family. An attentive ear to change, respect of place, and high-quality production are three driving factors that put Tommasi among Italy’s leading producers. Their expertise in crafting classic Amarone, reached the pinnacle in the newly launched De Buris project, a single vineyard, long aged expression of Amarone.
