Product Notes

Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG is a rich and velvety red wine made from carefully selected grapes grown in the Valpolicella region of Italy. It is made using the traditional appassimento method, where the grapes are dried for several months to achieve a concentrated and intense flavour. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for at least 3 years, giving it a complex character with aromas of dried fruits, balsamic, vanilla and spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a smooth and silky texture and a long, lingering finish. This wine is ideal for pairing with hearty meat dishes and strong cheeses and is best enjoyed in good company over long meals.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in colour. The wine has complex aromas of ripe cherry, black fruit, wild berries and warm spices. The palate is concentrated with excellent structure and flavours of ripe black and red fruits, leather and dark chocolate. A perstisting and prefumed, velvety finish.

About the Winery

Tommasi

Tommasi was founded in 1902 and is located in Pedemonte, in the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classico region. From grandfather Giacomo’s small vineyard holding, the Tommasi estate has developed over the years becoming one of the most recognised producers of Valpolicella and Lugana. The family owns vineyards in some of the prime hillside sites in the region and it is now managed by the 4th generation of the Tommasi family. An attentive ear to change, respect of place, and high-quality production are three driving factors that put Tommasi among Italy’s leading producers. Their expertise in crafting classic Amarone, reached the pinnacle in the newly launched De Buris project, a single vineyard, long aged expression of Amarone.
