Tasting Note

The 2017 Seifried Nelson Pinot Noir is delicate and varietal showing berry fruit on the nose. The palate has notes of plums together with fragrant dried thyme. Lingering fruit flavours that persist on the palate aer the wine has gone.

This wine has a beautiful ruby red color and offers aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, with a hint of spice and oak. The palate is dominated by flavors of juicy cherry and blackberry, interwoven with subtle hints of vanilla and toasty oak. This Pinot Noir is medium-bodied with soft tannins and a well-balanced acidity. It has a long and smooth finish, making it a perfect pairing for grilled salmon, roasted duck, or mushroom risotto. One of Nelson’s pioneering wineries, Seifried Estate has played a defining role in establishing New Zealand’s South Island as a serious wine-producing region.
