Tasting Note

This blend displays dense red-black colour and magenta-tinged rim. The deep and subtle perfume of violets, cool graphite and layers of dark berry fruit has a captivating complexity. Créme de cassis, black liquorice and fresh juniper berry add to the alluring bouquet. Depth of flavour continues onto the palate, revealing multi-layered tannins, finely woven and gentle with delicious swelling intensity. Offering balance of verve, power, excellent length and persistence. The 2018 Series C requires time to express full concentration and promises enjoyment for decades to come.

Product Notes

Vilafonte Series C is an exceptional wine blend that comes from the famed Paarl wine region of South Africa. This 2016 vintage is a combination of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec grapes, which have been carefully selected and aged in French oak barrels for 22 months to create a rich and complex wine. The result is a deep ruby-colored wine with a nose of ripe plums, blackcurrants, and vanilla, with a hint of chocolate and spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied with soft tannins, a silky texture, and a long finish. Vilafonte Series C is an excellent choice for those who enjoy a full-bodied red wine that is elegant and refined.

Vilafonte

Founded in 1996, Vilafonte is the first South African and American joint venture in winemaking. The winery got established from the partnership between three respected wine specialists and founding partners. They included Mike Ratcliffe from South Africa and Dr. Phil Freese and Zelma Long from the United States of America.
