Tasting Note

Charles Wetmore Cabernet Sauvignon is a great representation of a Livermore Valley Cabernet, bringing forth dark berry notes such as blackberry, complemented by pink peppercorn and a layer of cocoa dust. This wine has a velvety acidity and would be great to drink immediately or store in your cellar.

Product Notes

Wente Vineyards' Single Vineyard Charles Wetmore Cabernet Sauvignon is a highly regarded and impeccably crafted red wine. Made from grapes sourced from the Charles Wetmore Vineyard in Livermore Valley, California – one of the oldest vineyards in the state – this Cabernet is the epitome of balance and elegance. The grapes are hand-harvested and meticulously sorted before being aged in French oak barrels for 17 months. The result is a rich and complex wine with notes of blackberry, cherry, and cassis, as well as hints of vanilla and cedar. The tannins are silky smooth, and the finish is long and lingering. This is a wine that will age well for many years, but can also be enjoyed now with a hearty meal or on its own with good company.

About the Winery

Wente Vineyards

Known to be California’s longest operational family-owned wine estate, Wente Vineyards came into existence in 1883. Carl H Wente acquired the ownership of 47 hectares in the Livermore Valley in California during this year. By 1936, Herman Wente, the second-generation Wente family member, supported the establishment of the Wine Institute of California.
