Tasting Note

Cool and aromatic, the nose is reminiscent of the Australian bush with blood plums, fresh prunes, citrus and fresh herbs. This Shiraz is the most tannic wine Steve makes. Pleasingly ripe, rich flavours fill all corners of the mouth with blue fruits and Eau de Vie. A finish of dusty earth and roasted meats.

Product Notes

Koomilya DC Block McLaren Vale Shiraz is a premium wine produced from one of the most sought-after vineyards in the McLaren Vale wine region. The wine is made from 100% Shiraz grapes, handpicked from the best vines of the vineyard. It is aged in oak barrels for 18 months, which gives it a rich, complex, and elegant flavor with a deep ruby color. The wine boasts flavors of dark berries, plum, and spice, with subtle tannins that provide a long finish. The Koomilya DC Block McLaren Vale Shiraz pairs well with red meats, rich stews, and hearty pasta dishes. This wine is a must-try for any wine enthusiast looking for a premium drinking experience.

About the Winery

Koomilya

The story of Koomilya started with the history of its founder, Stephen Pannell and a bell. When Stephen was 15 years old, he wandered off in an exploration away from his family, finding himself roaming across Busselton Jetty’s diving end. Standing on the edge of the Margaret River, he discovered and picked up a discoloured and old bell from the sea during scuba diving. Stephen got drawn to the object almost instantly as if it had called out to him.
