Tasting Note

An aromatic Semillon displaying aromas of green fig, white fruit and nettles characteristic of the cool climate in Elim. A distinct minerality with a slight earthiness on the nose that follows through onto the palate. A small amount of French oak adds a hint of smokiness leading to a creamy palate with a crisp acidity.

Product Notes

Ghost Corner Semillon is a crisp, lively white wine produced in the Elim wine region of South Africa. It is a light green-tinged color and has a fragrance of citrus fruit and a touch of herbs. Its palate is fresh and zesty while being balanced by a creamy texture, with notes of lime, green apple, and a hint of minerality. The finish is long, with a subtle acidity that lingers pleasantly on the tongue. Ghost Corner Semillon is a great pairing for seafood, salads, and light meals, and is best served chilled. It is a refreshing, easy-drinking wine perfect for warm weather or anytime a refreshing glass of wine is in order.

About the Winery

Ghost Corner

At the southernmost African tip lies the ghost corner wines. Over the years, over 130 ships have been destroyed by the treacherous waters. The issue with this area is the fact that compasses don’t show any deviation between the true and magnetic north. This makes navigating the area impossible, especially on stormy dark nights.
