Tasting Note

A classic Simonsberg-Stellenbosch Cabernet, exuding a sense of coolness, despite the warm vintage conditions. A perfumed nose filled with notes of blackcurrants, fennel, cigar box, tea leaf and fynbos shrub. The palate is delicate and fresh, with an austere old-world charm about it. Grainy tannins complement the earthy profile, with subtle hints of liquorice on the lengthy finish.

Product Notes

Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium South African red wine that is consistently rated amongst the best in the world. This rich and complex wine is made from carefully selected grapes grown on the slopes of the majestic Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 24 months, resulting in a deep ruby color, intense fruit aromas, and a complex bouquet of spices, vanilla, and oak. The palate is full-bodied and layered with flavors of dark berries, chocolate, and leather, supported by firm tannins and a long finish. Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect match for red meat, game, and strong cheeses.
