Tasting Note

Mature, gamey nose, almost Pinot in style but the palate is fuller and serious. Delicate violet notes on the nose followed by attractive, violet fruit. Delicately made. Toffee smells on the nose and a pleasant palate with slightly ageing fruit and interesting flavour of mushroom on the finish. Complex, deep and delicious blend of tarry blackcurrant fruit with underlying richness of dried fig.

Product Notes

Cantina Santadi Carignano del Sulcis Grotta Rossa is a wine that exudes depth and complexity. It is a red wine that is made entirely from the Carignano grape variety found in the Sulcis region of Sardinia. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak casks which gives it a powerful structure and depth. This wine has a ruby-red color with hints of purple at the edges. On the palate, it has a full-bodied texture with aromas of blackberry, cherry, and violet. The tannins are firm but silky, making it a well-balanced and elegant wine. This wine is perfect for pairing with roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses. Cantina Santadi Carignano del Sulcis Grotta Rossa is a must-try for wine enthusiasts who appreciate the art of winemaking.

About the Winery

Cantina Santadi

In the year 1960, a group of local grape growers got together to establish a winery known as the Cantina Santadi right in the heart of Sulcis district. The grape growers started doing cooperative winemaking business here. Until the 1980s, the main job of this winery was to produce bulk wine and sell the same to the world.
