Tasting Note

Brilliant ruby red in colour. On the nose the Ruby Port shows clean, bright aromas of ripe plums and strawberries. The full body and rich ripe flavours are accompanied on the palate by soft juicy tannins and well balanced sweetness.

Product Notes

Sandeman Ruby Port is a rich and full-bodied fortified wine, aged in oak barrels for three years before bottling. The wine is made from a blend of red grape varieties grown in the Douro Valley of Portugal, known for their intensity and richness. It is a vibrant ruby red in color, with a nose of ripe dark fruit and spice. The palate is complex and layered, with flavors of blackberry, plum, and cherry, balanced by notes of vanilla and chocolate. The finish is long and satisfying, with a gentle sweetness and tannic grip. Sandeman Ruby Port is perfect as a dessert wine, paired with strong cheeses or chocolate-based desserts.

About the Winery

Sandeman

The Sandeman winery was first established in 1790 by brothers George and David Sandeman. Eight years later, David quit and moved on to a different job, leaving George Sandeman to handle the affairs of the winery.  With its headquarters in Portugal, the Sandeman winery is quite famous for its Port & Sherry brand of wines. When you go on a wine tourism tour to Portugal, you cannot afford to miss the Sandeman winery.
