Tasting Note

With an authentic expression of this variety in this terroir, this wine has its own identity. A complex bouquet of aromas ranging from dark red fruits recognizable in marasca cherries, to violet flowers and delicate vegetals. This structure is accompanied by strong and noble tannings.

Product Notes

G.D. Vajra Langhe Pinot Nero is a premium red wine that has a rich and complex flavor profile. This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from vineyards in the Langhe region of Piedmont, Italy. On the nose, it has aromas of fresh red cherries, raspberries and wild strawberries with hints of vanilla and spice from the oak barrel aging. The palate is elegant with a delicate tannin structure and a long, persistent finish with juicy acidity that makes for a refreshing wine. This wine is a perfect accompaniment to dishes such as grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and mushroom risotto.

About the Winery

G.D. Vajra

Established in 1972 by Guiseppe Domenico Vajra (GD Vajra), this winery is located in the tallest village of Barolo in the north-western part of Italy. Here, the vineyards are located at an altitude of 400m. This brand uses grapes cultivated from its family-owned vineyards to craft exquisite wines. Today, all the 40 hectares of vineyards and the winery are managed by Vajra’s son, Aldo, along with his wife and children. Thanks to the popularity of these wines, the village of Barolo is quite well-known to wine lovers across the globe today.
