Tasting Note

The colour, the brightness of flavour and the fruit bely its age, although there are certainly tertiary flavours within. Lovely cedar box and baking spices, ironstone and warm bitumen. The tannins are perfectly poised, with excellent acidity, and the finish long and pure. A stunning The Redman with a few more years ahead of it yet.

Product Notes

Redman The Redman is a bold and rich red wine made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Shiraz grapes sourced from the Coonawarra region in South Australia. The wine has a deep ruby color and aromas of dark fruit, mocha and vanilla. The palate is complex with layers of blackberry and plum fruit, hints of cedar, and a long finish with firm tannins. The acidity is well-balanced, making it a great pairing for red meat dishes or hearty stews. This wine is a testament to the renowned winemaking skills of the Redman family, who have been producing quality wines in Coonawarra for over 100 years.

About the Winery

Redman

The history of Redman starts with William (Bill) Redman. He arrived in Coonawarra in 1901 from avenue range. He was only 14 years old at the time, and he got work at a winery owned by John Riddoch. Bill worked there up to 1908 and took the time to learn the craft under Ewen McBain, a respected winemaker.
