Tasting Note

Deep crimson red with purple hues. Entwines hints of vanilla, plum, currants and cherry. Fresh and bright, a delicate palate to start showing freshness and bright sweet fruit, red-berries, plum and lifted floral notes. The tightly woven palate has fine grained gravely tannins, slight mocha and savoury earthy notes. The palate is flavoursome and persistent. A very refined, beautifully balanced and effortlessly elegant wine with the structure and fruit intensity to richly reward further cellaring.

Frankland Estate Olmo's Reward is an exceptional wine that embodies the purity and subtlety of the Frankland River region. It is named after Dr. Harold Olmo, the legendary viticulturist who was responsible for introducing many new grape varieties to California. This wine pays homage to his pioneering work in the field of viticulture. Olmo's Reward is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It is a rich, bold, and complex wine with aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, and vanilla. On the palate, it has flavors of blackberry, plum, chocolate, and a hint of spice. This wine has a long and lingering finish that begs for another sip. Frankland Estate Olmo's Reward is an elegant wine that can be enjoyed now or aged for many years.

About the Winery

Frankland Estate

Frankland Estate is one of Australia’s most renowned wineries, established in 1988 by Judi Cullam and Barrie Smith. Located in the district of the Frankland River, the area enjoys a cold and pleasant climate that is typical to the southwestern coast of Western Australia. Since its foundation, the couple has remained invested and involved in the winery and its vineyards’ operation and management. They share and hold the responsibility of the estate’s winemaking and overall working. In recent times, their children Hunter and Elizabeth Smith, have taken over the roles. They aim to drive the family business forward and to a new level.
