Tasting Note

A wine of depth and flavour. Spice, vanilla and bright red fruit like ripe raspberries and red currants waft out of the glass. The palate is soft and juicy with great length. Pepper abounds, balanced by plum and earthy, savoury olive characters. Lovely textural tannins produce an elegant cool climate Shiraz.

Product Notes

Frankland Estate Shiraz is a rich and complex red wine that represents the best of the Great Southern region in Western Australia. This wine is made from a handpicked selection of Shiraz grapes grown on the Frankland Estate's vineyard, which is renowned for its cool-climate terroir. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months before release, giving it a deep red colour and an intense aroma of blackberry, pepper, and spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with a firm tannin structure and a long, elegant finish. This Shiraz is an excellent choice for special occasions or for pairing with hearty dishes such as grilled meats or stews.

About the Winery

Frankland Estate

Frankland Estate is one of Australia’s most renowned wineries, established in 1988 by Judi Cullam and Barrie Smith. Located in the district of the Frankland River, the area enjoys a cold and pleasant climate that is typical to the southwestern coast of Western Australia. Since its foundation, the couple has remained invested and involved in the winery and its vineyards’ operation and management. They share and hold the responsibility of the estate’s winemaking and overall working. In recent times, their children Hunter and Elizabeth Smith, have taken over the roles. They aim to drive the family business forward and to a new level.
