Tasting Note

Beautiful ruby red in colour, with distinctive aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, blackcurrant but also leather and sweet violet. Full-bodied in the mouth but never tiring, silky tannin and lingering taste reminiscent of licorice and coffee.

Product Notes

Li Veli Passamante Salice Salentino DOC is an expressive and intriguing blend of Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes grown in Italy's Puglia region. This wine is full-bodied and complex, with an intense ruby color and an inviting bouquet of dark fruits, black cherry, and spices. On the palate, it delivers bold flavors of ripe blackberry, black currant, and espresso, along with hints of vanilla and tobacco. The tannins are firm yet well-integrated, enhancing the wine's overall structure and balance. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a pleasant aftertaste of fruit and spice. This is an excellent choice for pairing with flavorful dishes, especially grilled meats or pasta with hearty sauces.

About the Winery

Li Veli

The Masseria Li Veli Winery is located on the historic Messapian area on the Salento Plains of Italy. It was during 1858 that famous Italian economist Antonio de Viti de Marco discovered this place. His sole objective was to develop this area into a state-of-the-art cellar, which would make Italy proud. During 1999, the Falvo family, which had a wide experience in the business of wine-making, developed an interest in these vineyards and took control over the place. Thanks to the family’s single-minded determination and expertise, the place was renovated and it started a new wine culture in the region of Apulia.
