The finish reveals hints of dark chocolate, which linger pleasantly on the palate.

Symington Family Estates Altano Douro Organic Red is a rich and balanced wine that is made from a blend of organic Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Barroca grapes. The wine is harvested from the terraced vineyards in the historic Douro Valley wine region of Portugal. The Altano Douro Organic Red is a lush and deep ruby color with aromas of blackberries, black cherries, and subtle vanilla. On the palate, it has flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and a hint of spice with a silky smooth finish. This wine pairs perfectly with red meat, hearty stews, and aged cheeses.

About the Winery

Symington Family Estates Altano

The Altano line of wines is a proud production of the Symington family, who have an experience of five generations in making Port at the Douro. Today, the family owns about 26 Quintas in the Douro Superior and the prime Cima-Corgo subregions, the largest in the Douro region. The family started producing Douro DOC wines in 1999 from their vineyards, and the wines currently enjoy a global reputation for their quality and distinctiveness.
