Tasting Note

The colour is a delicate strawberry pink, with just a suggestion of bronze and onion skin. The bouquet springs from the glass, immediate and assertive, rich with sweet summer raspberry fruit and subtle autumnal blackberry. The blend’s high proportion of Pinot Meunier also gives the wine a heady note and savoury edge. The palate is finely knit and multi-layered after its extended ageing in bottle, and remains vivacious and intense, yet with a marine undertone.

Product Notes

Hambledon Vineyard Première Cuvée Rosé wine is a luxurious and elegant sparkling wine that exudes sophistication from the first sip. Made from a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes grown in the rolling hills of Hampshire, England, this exquisite rosé showcases aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and rose petals. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with notes of ripe red fruit, citrus, and a hint of minerality. Perfect for any special occasion, this wine pairs beautifully with seafood, salads, and light cheeses. With its delicate bubbles and stunning pink hue, Hambledon Vineyard Première Cuvée Rosé is a true delight for the senses.

About the Winery

Hambledon Vineyard

Hambledon Vineyard, nestled in the heart of Hampshire’s South Downs, is widely regarded as the birthplace of English wine. Originally founded in 1952 by Major General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones, it was England’s first commercial vineyard. After a period of decline, it was revived in 1999 by Ian Kellett, who replanted classic Champagne grape varieties—Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier—on the estate’s chalk-rich slopes. In 2023, Hambledon entered a new chapter when it was acquired in a joint venture by Berry Bros. & Rudd and Symington Family Estates, helping expand its vineyard area to around 200 acres.
