Tasting Note

The wine has a bright straw yellow colour with golden highlights and exquisite aroma, with scents reminiscent of tropical fruit, ginger, spice and oatmeal. Well-structured and minerally with flavours of lime and toasted almonds on the palate. Prime drinking begins at 3-4 years, although top vintages remain impressive for up to 10 years

Product Notes

Chamonix Chardonnay Reserve is a complex and elegant South African white wine with a compelling range of flavors. The wine has a bright, lemony yellow color and offers aromas of buttered toast and vanilla with a creamy yet refreshing palate reminiscent of tropical fruit. It's a full-bodied wine with a perfect harmony of acidity and oak that is very balanced and finishes with a long-lasting, refreshing aftertaste. The Chamonix Chardonnay Reserve is made in limited quantity with hand-picked grapes from selected vineyards that are carefully fermented in French oak barrels. Its smooth texture and rich flavors make it an excellent pairing for seafood, pasta, or poultry dishes. Overall, this wine is a great example of the quality and finesse that comes from the Franschhoek wine valley.

About the Winery

Chamonix

The historical Huguenot Estate, which goes back to 1688, previously included the Cape Chamonix Wine Farm. Chamonix has sprung into the international wine scene during the past 20 years as a well-respected winery in its own right, now operating under the guidance of German-born businessman Chris Hellinger. Under his leadership, the estate has experienced significant development and now provides tourists with a wide range of dining and entertainment options in breathtaking settings.
