Tasting Note

The 2013 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard is as sexy and fruit driven as the wines from this estate get. Giving up tons of strawberries, blueberries, crushed violets and assorted floral notes, it's upfront and layered on the palate, with plenty of fruit, good concentration and a big finish. Shining for its mouth filling fruit and texture, it's still far from blowsy or soft, and should evolve nicely.

Product Notes

Rhys Vineyards Bearwallow Vineyard Pinot Noir is an elegantly crafted wine with deep, complex flavors. This Pinot Noir grape is grown in the Bearwallow vineyard in the cooler regions of Anderson Valley, California. The cool ocean breeze and well-draining soils give this wine its distinct taste. It has a dark ruby color and a fresh and delicate nose of vibrant red fruits like raspberries and cherries. Rich layers of black tea, earth, and spice follow through on the palate with a luscious texture that lingers on the finish. This Pinot Noir is an opulent wine that expertly balances tannins, acidity, and fruit flavors, making it a perfect match for grilled or roasted meats and spicy foods.

About the Winery

Rhys Vineyards

Founded in 2004, Rhys Vineyards was established by Kevin Harvey. Kevin was a passionate and ambitious wine collector famous in the wine region of Burgundy. Long before the winery’s launching, he made close associations and friendships with several well-renowned domains in the department of Cotes d’Or. It allowed him to access a few of his friends’ properties and study the soil chemistry, depth, structure, and overall terroir climate of those lands.
