Product Notes

Planeta Eruzione 1614 Nerello Mascalese Sicilia D.O.C. is a fine red wine produced on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. The wine is made from the local Nerello Mascalese grape variety, that is carefully grown and picked by hand at high altitudes. The eruption of the Etna volcano in 1614 represents a catastrophic event that is the inspiration for this wine's name. The wine has a deep red color, accompanied by complex aromas of red fruits, spices, and a hint of vanilla. Eruzione 1614 has a smooth and velvety texture, which pairs well with smoked meats or aged cheeses. The wine is aged in oak barrels, allowing it to develop a lively and robust flavor that is both powerful and elegant.
