Tasting Note

Grown high on the limestone-rich soils of Mt. Harlan, this wine is an aromatic beauty, revealing layers of jasmine, citrus, stone fruits and chaparral. On the palate, it is both lush and lively, with alluring layers of white peach, vanilla bean and lemon zest balanced by bright cool-climate acidity and a soft, supple mouthfeel that adds to the lingering richness of the finish.

Product Notes

Calera Mt. Harlan Chardonnay is a refined and elegant white wine that showcases the unique terroir of the Mt. Harlan vineyard in California. This Chardonnay is carefully crafted by the skilled winemakers at Calera, known for producing high-quality, small-batch wines. The wine opens with aromas of ripe pear, green apple, and citrus, leading to a palate of vibrant acidity and a creamy texture. Notes of toasted oak, vanilla, and a hint of minerality add complexity to the wine, culminating in a long, satisfying finish. Calera Mt. Harlan Chardonnay is a perfect choice for special occasions or intimate gatherings.

About the Winery

Calera was founded in 1975 by Josh Jensen in California’s Gabilan Mountains on the Central Coast. Inspired by Burgundy’s limestone-rich vineyards, Jensen sought to prove that California could produce world-class, terroir-driven Pinot Noir. Over the past four decades, Calera has become internationally respected for elegant, complex wines that showcase the Central Coast terroir.
