Tasting Note

Brilliant ruby red in colour. On the nose, there is an incredible bouquet of purple flowers, raspberries and redcurrants, which interlace with hints of rose, rhubarb, toffee apple and incense. As the wine opens, layers of marasca cherries, white truffle, lavender and anise fill the nose. Expressive yet balanced on the palate, red fruit flavours, subtle minerality and refined tannins carry through onto the long finish.

Product Notes

G.D. Vajra Barolo Bricco delle Viole is a premium wine that embodies the essence of the Piedmont region of Italy. It is made using 100% Nebbiolo grapes, which are hand-harvested from the Bricco delle Viole vineyard, one of the region's most prestigious vineyards. The wine is aged for 30 months in Slovenian oak barrels, giving it a rich and complex aroma of spices, red fruits, and flowers. On the palate, it is full-bodied with firm tannins and a persistent finish. G.D. Vajra Barolo Bricco delle Viole is a wine that is perfect for pairing with bold-flavored dishes or aged cheeses, making it a must-have for any wine lover.

About the Winery

G.D. Vajra

Established in 1972 by Guiseppe Domenico Vajra (GD Vajra), this winery is located in the tallest village of Barolo in the north-western part of Italy. Here, the vineyards are located at an altitude of 400m. This brand uses grapes cultivated from its family-owned vineyards to craft exquisite wines. Today, all the 40 hectares of vineyards and the winery are managed by Vajra’s son, Aldo, along with his wife and children. Thanks to the popularity of these wines, the village of Barolo is quite well-known to wine lovers across the globe today.
