Tasting Note

This Swartland Syrah has superb complexity, balance and intensity. On the nose is a wonderful bouquet of fresh mulberries, violets and black olive. The structured palate follows through with intricate layers of dark plums, sour cherry and star anise and finishes with powerful and velvety tannins.

Mullineux Signature Syrah is a wine that is highly appreciated for its complexity, intense flavors, and elegance. It is a single-vineyard wine produced by the Mullineux family in the Swartland region of South Africa. The wine is made from grapes grown in the iron-rich and sandy soils of the Kasteelberg Mountains. This unique terroir imparts distinctive flavors of black currant, blueberries, and black pepper. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 14 months, which reinforces its structure and adds subtle hints of vanilla and spice. The Mullineux Signature Syrah is a full-bodied wine with a long, velvet finish that makes it perfect for pairing with red meat, game, and strong cheeses.

They put all their winemaking experience into the brand they created, Mullineux, in South Africa’s Swartland region. As soon as Chris and Andrea spotted the terroirs, climatic conditions and the soil qualities of this region, they knew that this was where they wanted to set up their label.
